Introducing...

Brynlee Mae!

Brynlee made her grand entrance on Saturday, February 27th at 10:43pm. She was a very healthy 8 pounds 9 ounces and an off the charts length of 21 3/4 inches! Ha, she must get her height from her... well, we aren't sure of that just yet! We had quite a journey getting her here but it was all worth it once we finally met our baby girl!

A semi-short story on how we finally got to the BIG reveal...

My water broke on Friday (the 26th) night around 6:45pm - right before we were about to go out for a fun night on the town! We had planned a night of spicy wings and lots of walking the mall, hoping that maybe (just maybe) it would encourage her to come on out. We ended up going to the birth center at 1:00am only to learn I was a measly 3cm dilated :( Very long story short around noon (on the 27th) I had reached a 6 and that is where I topped off. We gave it a go for a couple more hours and at 2:00pm (21 hours after my water broke) decided to take it on over to the hospital since I completely stopped laboring. I was checked in and hooked up to all of the obnoxious monitors and IVs by 3pm - the doctor confirmed that I was still only at a 6. With absolutely NO progress made by 9pm and with the 50/50 shot that even if I did progress she may be too big to make it out safely we made the decision to go through with a c-section.

The decision to go through with the c-section was really difficult for Andy and I, especially after preparing for a natural delivery at the Birthing Center for so long. However, it was definitely all worth it when we were finally able to hold our sweet baby girl and start celebrating her arrival with family and friends! By Monday night we were ready to leave the hospital so as soon as Brynlee and I got our official discharge we were out of that place! I went in today to get the staples taken out but the doctor said it will take another 5 or so weeks to completely heal.

Andy and I are so appreciative of all the loving people that have came by to visit and bring us meals. It means so much to the both of us to have such a great support system.
