Proud Dad... Prouder Husband

Well, I don’t think that I’ll ever really get into blogging, but I do feel the desire to share a few things.

After a seemingly endless pregnancy Brynlee has finally joined us. She’s an absolutely beautiful little girl. 10 fingers, 10 toes…Perfect! She cries, burps, farts, poops, pees, and now that I think about it she acts a lot like her Mom! ;)

Oh boy did she make an entrance.

I have officially learned (and this is a man talking) why they call it labor. What a truly physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausting day we had. Jenni powered through 30 hours of labor, which I’m sure she’ll share in more detail later. She had absolutely no quit in her, even when there seemed to be no end in sight. How hard it was to watch the one I love more than anything hurt like she did. I felt helpless, not sure what I could do to comfort her. But minute after minute, hour after hour she pressed on. Even after we had to make a switch from the birth center to the hospital she remained positive. 28 hours in, a C-Section appeared to be our best option. At 10:43 p.m., after 30 hours from when her water broke, they pulled my gorgeous, purple girl from Jenni’s belly. The rest is history.

Let me just say that I have NEVER been more proud of anyone than I am of Jenni. She is without a doubt the strongest person I know. I love and respect her so much! I’ve asked myself several times since last Saturday if I would be strong enough to endure something like that. My answer, “I think so.” But, if you ask Jenni her answer is simply, “Yes.”
